My Lyfestyle Through Lyrics
In the last two weeks I’ve managed to crank out nearly 15 songs. Thank God my writers block is gone. Most of all, thank God for my twitter followers because I’ve drawn inspiration from quite a few of them. Writing and journaling come easily to me, but it’s the inspiration that feeds me to want and need to write. Songwriting is the same, even when I’m out and about. It doesn’t matter where I am, a concept or melody of a song will come to mind and I’ll jot down a few notes and words for lyrics to remind myself later when I’m in a writing session.
For some of my songs I hear specific voices singing them. I’ve shared with a couple of my followers that are singers that I’ve written songs with them in mind to sing them. The only thing is, I’ve written some songs without a beat. I do that often. Some of my songs are poems that I’ve transformed into songs. One of my followers stated she writes the same way as me and that she’s written to the sound of wind chimes. I smiled when she told me because people wonder how I can write without a beat or how I can write to everyday noises like traffic or a car ignition starting or even to the rhythm
of my blinking car turn signal (lol). I can’t explain how I do it, I just do it.
Whatever the case may be, music is everywhere and in everything. And as I sit here listening to my holiday playlist on my surround sound, I’m even thinking about penning a couple holiday songs. I don’t know how that’ll go over, but I’ll try my hand at it.
Making music comes easy to me… uh… in more ways than one (lol). I couldn’t avoid that double entendre even if I wanted to. I’m just missing my hunny and would rather be making music with him… both ways… since he’s a musician himself… and he’s missing me as much as I’m missing him. MWAH! 🙂
Until Next post,
